Artwork requirements

Small print areas punish fine detail, and FastEditor validates every Goldstar upload against the rules for the chosen product and method before a production file is generated. The checks that run on each upload:

  • Minimum line thickness. Hairlines that fill in under pad printing or vanish under an engraving laser are caught while the customer is still in the editor, which matters most on a pen barrel.
  • Colour limits. Screen and pad printing carry a maximum number of spot colours per position, so an over-colour logo is stopped before it ships.
  • Resolution and DPI. Raster uploads are measured against the actual output size for the chosen product and method.
  • File formats. Customers upload JPG, PNG, PDF, AI or EPS. Automated vectorization turns the upload into clean paths.
  • Colour schema. Uploads convert to the colour space the method requires, with spot-colour matching where the method supports it.
