Overview

Goldstar is a promotional products supplier best known for its pens, alongside drinkware and everyday giveaways built for high-volume branding. Writing instruments are a decoration category of their own: a narrow, curved print area, a method that has to hold fine detail at small size, and colour rules that decide whether a logo prints cleanly. For a reseller, getting that right on every pen is exactly the work FastEditor removes.

Goldstar products are live in FastEditor's Product Hub, with print areas and decoration methods attached to each product. A customer uploads a logo on your product page, the editor places it inside the real print area for that product and method, and the file that reaches production is vectorized automatically when vector output is required for the selected decoration technique, validated and ready to print. When vector output is not required, vectorization may be recommended to improve quality but is optional.

How the integration works

The Goldstar connection keeps product data, images and decoration specifications in sync, so each product carries everything the editor needs to constrain and validate a design.

Three things travel with every product:

Print areas. The position, size and shape of each decorable area, so the editor holds a customer's design to what the product can physically take.
Decoration methods. Which techniques are available on that product, each with its own limits on colour count, line weight and resolution.
Product data and images. Variants, colours and imagery, so a logo previews on the product the customer is actually ordering.

Small print areas punish fine detail, and FastEditor validates every Goldstar upload against the rules for the chosen product and method before a production file is generated. The checks that run on each upload:

Line thickness. FastEditor provides an indication to help the user assess fine detail against the selected product and decoration technique’s requirements. Thin lines are not automatically corrected. Follow the supplier’s requirement for that configuration rather than a single minimum for every product.
Colour limits. Screen and pad printing carry a maximum number of spot colours per position, so an over-colour logo is stopped before it ships.
Resolution and DPI. Raster uploads are measured against the actual output size for the chosen product and method.
File formats. Customers upload JPG, PNG, PDF, AI or EPS. Raster logos are vectorized when the selected decoration technique requires vector output; when it does not, FastEditor may recommend vectorization and the user can choose whether to apply it.
Colour schema. Uploads convert to the colour space the method requires, with spot-colour matching where the method supports it.

How to start selling
