Overview

Digital on Demand is a print-on-demand decorator for drinkware and hardgoods, operating from Danvers, Massachusetts in the United States and Venlo in the Netherlands. It runs on no minimums and ships most orders inside three working days, with 45 product groups covering tumblers, insulated water bottles and glassware.

Drinkware is unforgiving to decorate: a logo has to sit inside a curved, wrapping print area and hold its detail once it is engraved or printed on a cylinder. When a reseller uploads artwork on a Digital on Demand product page, FastEditor vectorizes it automatically when vector output is required for the selected decoration technique, checks it against that item's print area and decoration method, previews it in place on the product, and outputs a production-ready print file plus a branded proof. No prepress queue, no correction loop. When vector output is not required, vectorization may be recommended to improve quality but is optional.

How the integration works

Digital on Demand products are connected through the FastEditor Product Hub, so their drinkware range carries the print-area and decoration data each item needs for automated artwork checks.

  • Print areas: cylindrical and wrap zones per vessel, so a mark is held inside the true decoration window on tumblers, bottles and glasses rather than a flat bounding box.
  • Decoration methods: laser engraving, UV and digital print and pad or screen print, matched to the surface, so line weight and colour count are validated for the method that item takes.
  • Product data and variants: sizes, capacities, colours and material finishes flow through with each product group, so the proof shows the exact variant a customer selected.

The Digital on Demand catalogue is available through the Product Hub for resellers in Europe and North America.

Artwork requirements

Drinkware and hardgoods reward clean, high-contrast artwork. To keep a Digital on Demand order production-ready, aim for the following:

  • Vector artwork. Vector logos where possible; FastEditor vectorizes uploaded raster files when the selected decoration technique requires vector output, so a mark stays sharp at engraving and print resolution.
  • Colour count. A colour count that suits the method: engraving reads as a single tone, while UV and digital print carry full colour.
  • Fine detail. Fine lines and small text kept above the minimum weight for a curved surface, so detail does not close up once wrapped.
  • Bleed and margins. Artwork sized to the item's print area, not the product outline, so nothing crosses the safe wrap zone.
  • Contrast. Solid, high-contrast shapes for engraved drinkware, where tonal gradients do not translate.

How to start selling

  1. Start from the connected catalogue. Every Digital on Demand product in the FastEditor Product Hub already carries its print areas, decoration methods and specifications. Product configuration is already done. To start in Studio Tool, create an account and choose a plan; the Starter plan includes a 30-day free trial. For Logo Editor, activate a FastEditor license and complete the webshop integration setup.
  2. Choose how you sell. Put products on your webshop with the Logo Editor so customers personalise them, or keep them in the Studio Tool for your sales and account teams.
  3. The design happens in FastEditor. A logo drops onto the product inside the real decoration area, is checked against the colour and line-weight rules, and is previewed in place before anyone commits.
  4. Generate the proof and production file. In Studio Tool, use Download to generate the files for the selected product and decoration technique. In Logo Editor, the webshop sends a Sale Notification after the customer places the order to trigger file generation. The proof and production file follow the selected supplier configuration.
