Overview

Markclip, part of Clipfactory in the Netherlands, has made printed steel paperclips since 1982 and, with the Promoclip line active since 1994, sits behind one of the world's largest ranges of branded document clips. Its Wingclip, Promoclip and Axionclip families, alongside Deltaclip and foldback styles, make up 52 product groups connected to FastEditor.

A printed clip is a small, fixed print area where a logo has to read at a glance, so placement and legibility are everything. When a reseller's customer uploads a logo on a Markclip product, FastEditor vectorizes it where the selected decoration technique requires vector output, validates it against that clip's print area, colour count and minimum line weight, previews it in place and outputs a production-ready print file with a branded proof.

How the integration works

Markclip products reach resellers through the FastEditor Product Hub, each clip carried as its own product group and print configuration.

  • Print areas: the flat printable face of each clip model, sized so a logo holds within the narrow area of a Wingclip, Promoclip or Axionclip.
  • Decoration methods: logo printing on the steel clip face, with the editor holding artwork to the supported colour count and the fine line weight a small clip demands; engraving and relief finishes are also part of the Markclip range.
  • Product data and variants: clip type, size and finish options across all 52 product groups are held in the feed.

These Markclip product groups are available to resellers across Europe.

Artwork requirements

Small steel clips need artwork prepared for a narrow, high-legibility print area:

  • Vector artwork. Logos are vectorized when the selected decoration technique requires vector output, so they stay sharp at the small size a clip allows.
  • Line thickness. FastEditor provides an indication to help the user assess fine detail against the selected product and decoration technique’s requirements. Thin lines are not automatically corrected. Follow the supplier’s requirement for that configuration rather than a single minimum for every product.
  • Colour count. Colour count is held to the clip's print setup.
  • Placement and size. Artwork is scaled and positioned to the printable face of the chosen clip.
  • Proof preview. The proof shows the logo on the clip before the order is confirmed.

How to start selling

  1. Start from the connected catalogue. Every Markclip (Clipfactory) product in the FastEditor Product Hub already carries its print areas, decoration methods and specifications. Product configuration is already done. To start in Studio Tool, create an account and choose a plan; the Starter plan includes a 30-day free trial. For Logo Editor, activate a FastEditor license and complete the webshop integration setup.
  2. Choose how you sell. Put products on your webshop with the Logo Editor so customers personalise them, or keep them in the Studio Tool for your sales and account teams.
  3. The design happens in FastEditor. A logo drops onto the product inside the real decoration area, is checked against the colour and line-weight rules, and is previewed in place before anyone commits.
  4. Generate the proof and production file. In Studio Tool, use Download to generate the files for the selected product and decoration technique. In Logo Editor, the webshop sends a Sale Notification after the customer places the order to trigger file generation. The proof and production file follow the selected supplier configuration.
