Overview

Berkeley is a premium knitwear and corporate apparel brand carried in the European promotional market, aimed at resellers who dress teams and clients in a more tailored, business-ready look. Its range leans on knitted styles and corporate wear rather than casual blanks, and covers 37 product groups.

Knitwear and corporate pieces are usually decorated by embroidery rather than large prints, and stitched detail behaves very differently from flat artwork. FastEditor takes the uploaded logo, vectorizes it automatically when vector output is required for the selected decoration technique, and validates it against the product and decoration method for stitchable line weight and placement before producing a production-ready file and a branded proof. When vector output is not required, vectorization may be recommended to improve quality but is optional.

How the integration works

Berkeley's mix of knitwear and corporate apparel favours discreet, well-placed decoration over full-coverage print.

  • Print areas: Decoration zones such as the left chest and cuff are held per style, matched to knitted and corporate pieces.
  • Decoration methods: Embroidery is the natural fit for knit and corporate wear, so artwork is checked for stitchable detail and line weight.
  • Product data and variants: Colours and sizes flow through as structured variants across the 37 product groups.

These 37 product groups are available through the FastEditor Product Hub for resellers across Europe.

Artwork requirements

Knitwear and corporate apparel are usually embroidered, which sets the terms for artwork.

  • Line thickness. FastEditor provides an indication to help the user assess fine detail against the selected product and decoration technique’s requirements. Thin lines are not automatically corrected. Follow the supplier’s requirement for that configuration rather than a single minimum for every product.
  • Fine detail. Avoid very small text and fine serifs, which blur once stitched.
  • Colour count. Favour a limited number of solid thread colours over gradients or photographic detail.
  • Placement and size. Place logos on stable zones such as the left chest rather than heavily ribbed or textured areas.
  • Vector artwork. Supply vector artwork where possible so it vectorizes cleanly for a stitch-ready proof.

How to start selling

  1. Start from the connected catalogue. Every Berkeley product in the FastEditor Product Hub already carries its print areas, decoration methods and specifications. Product configuration is already done. To start in Studio Tool, create an account and choose a plan; the Starter plan includes a 30-day free trial. For Logo Editor, activate a FastEditor license and complete the webshop integration setup.
  2. Choose how you sell. Put products on your webshop with the Logo Editor so customers personalise them, or keep them in the Studio Tool for your sales and account teams.
  3. The design happens in FastEditor. A logo drops onto the product inside the real decoration area, is checked against the colour and line-weight rules, and is previewed in place before anyone commits.
  4. Generate the proof and production file. In Studio Tool, use Download to generate the files for the selected product and decoration technique. In Logo Editor, the webshop sends a Sale Notification after the customer places the order to trigger file generation. The proof and production file follow the selected supplier configuration.

Frequently asked questions

What Berkeley products are available through FastEditor?

Berkeley is connected through the FastEditor Product Hub as 37 product groups of premium knitwear and corporate apparel. Each group carries its decoration zones and colour and size variants, so a customer's logo is validated against the exact garment before a proof is produced.

Which Berkeley decoration methods does FastEditor support?

The methods mapped for Berkeley include screen printing, embroidery, transfer printing, digital print. Each product carries the methods available for it, with the colour and line-weight limits that method imposes.

Do Berkeley orders produce a print-ready file automatically?

Yes. FastEditor generates a proof and a production file using the selected product and decoration technique’s configured supplier specifications. Raster logos are vectorized automatically when vector output is required; otherwise vectorization may be recommended and is optional. In Studio Tool, generate the files with Download. In Logo Editor, the webshop sends a Sale Notification after the customer places the order to trigger file generation. The production format depends on the configuration and can be JPG, PNG, PDF or SVG. Embroidery DST output is currently in testing and is not yet available.

Why is embroidery usually recommended for Berkeley knitwear?

Knitted and corporate garments carry embroidery far better than large flat prints, which can crack or distort on textured knit. FastEditor validates the logo for stitchable line weight and placement and previews it on the selected Berkeley item, so the proof reflects how the embroidery will sit before it reaches production.
